Psychotherapy, Counselling and Outdoor Therapy

"The good life is a process, not a state of being.  It is a direction, not a destination"

About Therapy

As a person-centred psychotherapist and counsellor with 17 years of counselling experience, I offer a confidential space in which I will offer my listening without judgement.

I work in a person-centred way with adults with a broad range of experiences including anxiety, abuse, depression, addiction, bereavement, anger management, low self-esteem, trauma, stress and relationship challenges.

I practice from Hayfield which lies in the Dark Peak of the  Peak District National Park in Derbyshire.

I offer face to face, online, telephone and Outdoor sessions.

I trained at The Sherwood Institute in Nottingham and hold a Masters research degree in Humanistic Person-Centred Psychotherapy. I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision and I also hold a BA (Hons) in Philosophy.  Additionally I hold a Certificate in Ecotherapy.

I have experience working with adults in a variety of settings and have focused experience working with adult carers and women experiencing distress and challenge. Alongside my private work, I have worked for Breast Cancer Care facilitating a support group for women living with secondary breast cancer and I have both lectured and tutored on the University of Salford's Counselling and Psychotherapy BSc and MSc courses.

I have a particular interest in taking therapy outside and have completed extensive training in this area.  Outdoor Therapy allows for an alternative means of therapeutic exploration and facilitates a wide spectrum of related insight.

I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist and a member of the BACP and as such adhere to associated codes of ethics.

Supervision

I offer person-centred / humanistic supervision, one to one or in group. I trained with The Sherwood Institute (Nottingham) to 'Teaching Supervisor' level in 2013 and have been practicing as a supervisor for 8 years.  I work with both new and established therapists. Additionally I am qualified to take on students in training and can incorporate teaching aspects in any supervision I offer.   I also offer Outdoor Supervision.

I use my broad range of counselling and psychotherapy experience in my supervisory practice and work with supervisees in a non-judgemental, holding and mutual way.
My fees are £65 per one hour session.
